Nadine Lustre is back with brand new music and we’re here for it! The anticipated album, “Wildest Dreams” is set to drop October 31st just in time for her birthday. This marks her first visual album and just telling by her Instagram, you know it’s going to be #aesthetics. The official teaser previewed a glimpse into Nadine’s artistry and sonic adventure. The current single of the same name written by Nadine along with co-Careless Music artists KINGwAw, Haissam Morton (Massiah) released on October 16th and has over 175k streams on Spotify already.
Dannieboi chats with Nadine to talk about the album, her vision leading up to it, and what she wants fans to get out of these personal songs.
Wildest Dreams is inspired by her actual dreams and experiences The songs on the album transcends mostly from Nadine’s vivid dreams. Specifically, the song “Wildest Dreams” is about a hike she took to Sagada back in 2017.
Fans are going to have to “dig deep and dive into the lyrics” Nadine said that the “Wildest Dreams” lyrics don’t make sense, but what she saw on that hike made sense for her. She gave us a fun fact about the line, “I'm seeing purple in the sky, I fly so high, the sun is waving.” The purple object she references is actually a purple mandala she brought with her on the hike. They were so high in the mountain that when the sun set, it looked as if it was waving to them. We’ll have to definitely dissect each song on the album and catch these clues she’s handing out.
The album isn’t out yet, but we can already tell Nadine is about to serve us with music that’s about to change the game This new era she described as “a new Nadine emerging from the ashes like a phoenix.” She explains how she grew as a songwriter with this project after years of being insecure about her writing. All we can say is, you’re doing great sweetie!
She already has a few collaborations under her belt Last year Nadine collaborated with rapper Ruby Ibarra on the track, “No 32” and another song called “Headspace” with Billy Davis, Curtismith, and Massiah. She said that these collabs worked because they “all had the same vibe and are passionate when it comes to music.” It also helped that they became friends in the process, so everything just clicked effortlessly.
Nadine has great chemistry with the Careless Music team We love hearing about supportive friends, but the Careless Music team are the definition of squad goals. Nadine said that because many of them were writers who worked on their songs, it made her want to step up her own game. When their first mixtape came out in 2018, the crew were hyped for all the songs to be released and celebrated together.
