Surely, there’s something about the post-pandemic Filipino music scene that shifted. What used to feel niche is now front and center. P-pop has found its footing, its audience, and its confidence. From BINI preparing to make waves on the global stage with their much-anticipated performance at Coachella this year to SB19 continuing to represent Filipino artistry at massive international events like ACON 2025, fandom culture has only grown louder, prouder, and more united.
And as the genre continues to expand, new groups are stepping forward—ready to be discovered, streamed on repeat, and hyperfixated on. One of them? WRIVE.
After coming up just short on their 2023 survival show, members Asi, Ishiro, Russu, Drei, and Mathew are finally stepping into their long-awaited era. The group is gearing up for the release of their first full album on Jan. 16, following their earlier debut tracks “Ooh La La” and “Señorita.”
If you’re wondering why WRIVE feels like a group worth keeping an eye on, here are a few reasons why they might just become your next obsession.
They’re creatives, not just performers
WRIVE is deeply involved in the creative process. Members Russu and Ishiro notably contributed to bringing BINI’s “Infinity,” from the group’s newest album FLAMES, to life, and they were also hands-on in crafting WRIVE’s debut tracks. For their first album, the members continue to take part in shaping their sound through new songs such as “PanoKung,” “Panaginip Na Lang,” and “Hakbang.”
This level of behind-the-scenes involvement gives WRIVE an edge, as they understand music not just as idols, but as artists.
Their chemistry is effortlessly chaotic
If you’ve seen their MYX Now interview, you already know. WRIVE’s brand of chaos is the fun, endearing kind, the type that comes from knowing each other too well. They bounce off one another naturally, finish each other’s jokes, and aren’t afraid to clown each other on camera. It’s the kind of chemistry that feels less like coworkers and more like a tight-knit friend group, which only makes fans feel closer to them.
They transform on stage
Live vocals? Check. Clean, high-energy choreography? Check. That undeniable “angas” that commands a stage? So check. WRIVE brings a performance style that feels confident but not forced, polished but still raw. They know how to hold attention and keep it.
They’re finally entering their long-awaited era
There’s something special about a group that waited, persisted, and came back stronger. WRIVE’s upcoming album is a payoff. Years of training, near-misses, and quiet preparation have led them here, and that journey makes this chapter feel more meaningful.
With P-pop continuing to thrive and fans more open than ever to discovering new groups, WRIVE arrives at the perfect moment. If you’re looking for a group with talent, personality, and a story worth rooting for, don’t be surprised if WRIVE becomes the one you can’t stop thinking about.

Continuing her music career as Ppop Soloist. She will hit you with her strong uplifting debut single “Karma”, let’s all meet Zéla!

“ACE”
It was night time in February of 2025, I was having a conversation with a friend at a cafe. He called me an ACE because he said I can do almost everything. So it started there, I tried to remember all the compliments that I got from other people and put them altogether in a song. I wanted to Activate Confidence to Empower other people through my song because everyone is an ACE in their own way.
“ARANGKADA”
This song was the first one I’ve heard from EC. At first I was like “hmm Tagalog, what is this song about? Haha” I really like the beats, it’s kinda different from the music that I grew up with but it’s very refreshing. EC was nice enough to let me change some lyrics as well because I couldn’t pronounce some of the words properly.
“01/01”
I wrote this after pandemic, I was getting a lot of negativity during those times to the point that I wanted to prove myself to everybody. Then I came up with this song and decided to release it on my birthday that’s why it’s called 01/01 because my birthday is January 1 and also number 1 is the monthsary of Zélors (my fandom name). It was a gift for them.
“Z.L”
Z.L means Zone Leader but it could also mean ZéLa and Zélor. Because I was doing TikTok live last March (2025) when I wrote the 1st verse on the spot with Zélors. I asked them if they could give me any words that I can write a song into and someone said Z.L and Zone Leader. And then boom I tried to finish the song the next day. It’s a leader’s pov and a women empowerment song, that’s why there’s some lyrics there saying “HER is leader” because I’m a woman myself.
“G.O.A.T”
I was furious when I wrote this song. I felt like everyone was trying to pull me down to the point that it was affecting my career. I tried to write everything down for me to cool down. I’ve also wanted to be a rockstar as a kid that’s why I made this one a rock version. And rock genre went so well with what I was feeling that time. I was “unleashing my wrath”.
“PARAISO”
Hesitant, that’s how I felt after EC explained to me the meaning of the lyrics. The lyrics are about someone’s pov saying that she’s a paradise and then I thought “wait, isn’t this kinda sound arrogant if I sing it? People might think I’m so full of myself” but as the time goes by it starts to grow on me . I also love how the beats are just simple and magical at the same time. It makes you feel like in a paradise.
“CHAOS”
Writing this song was chaos. I was just in a mood to write a unique topic. It was my first time to write a not so love song lyrics with the help of Jo. He wrote some of the lyrics and he’s the featured artist in this song. The song is about a playboy who happens to fall in love with a female alpha.
“BABABA”
This song is also in full Filipino and EC explained the meaning of it. I had a hard time singing this song because there’s a lot of “bababa” words that it got me so confused. But it’s very catchy and a good song to listen to while driving or traveling.
“HANAP KA NALANG NG IBA”
EC wrote this song, and I thought it was gonna be the easiest song from him. But I was wrong, I couldn’t get the timing right on the post hook part, it took me a few hours to hit the right timing. But I really had fun recording it. I love the beats and vibe that it’s giving me
“LEAVE ME”
This song is very personal to me, I was having a mental breakdown while I was writing it. All the bad things that people have told and called me got into my head that I started to believe them. I knew myself better than anyone else but that time was too much. I thought maybe I was becoming someone I’m not because that’s what everyone is calling me or wants me to become. It took me hours to record this song because I couldn’t stop crying but thankfully I got to finish it with the help of Coach Karl.

Fresh off the success of viral hit “Unang Sayaw,” Filipino pop-rock outfit NOBITA continues to smash out of the gate with another song with commercial potential. Their new single “Paruparo Na Walang Hanggan” plays on the band’s musical strengths,
blending deeply personal lyrics with soulful, harmony-laden arrangements. Like their previous releases, NOBITA’s latest song hits home with vulnerability that people can relate to.
“Paruparo Na Walang Hanggan is a song for someone who continues to believe in love, no matter the struggles they may have experienced in the past,” the chart-topping band shares in a statement. “The main hook and most of the melodic lines just came out spontaneously during one of our rehearsals for an event. It felt like we just vomited it subconsciously.” While it’s a love song to the core, “Paruparo Na Walang Hanggan” embraces a more intricate sonic direction, going as far as adding layers of choir-like elements, sparse keyboard textures, and bluesy chords to create something slightly out of the ordinary. Isagani Palabyab, their constant collaborator, co-produced the track and helped redefine its kundiman sensibilities with
a modern flair.
NOBITA adds, “We take pride in making songs that the audience can feel what we feel and remember easily the melody and lyrics of the song when they first hear it. We’re grateful to Isagani for encapsulating this vision into something memorable and subtle, and still giving off that familiar sound of ours.”
The song will be included in the setlist for their upcoming 6-city tour in the US, which kicks off in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 11 and wraps up in Fairfax, Virginia on August 26. Tickets are available at www.ToggleSwitchPH.com.
