Shifting gears to baseball, the Atlanta Braves claimed the World Series against the Houston Astros in a 4-2 series. Fil-Am Braves catcher, Travis d'Arnaud played a pivotal role throughout the 6-game series from putting his team on the board with a homer in Game 2 to calling all the pitches especially in an important Game 3 win.

D’Arnaud celebrated with closer Will Smith near the pitcher’s mound of Minute Maid Park in Houston the moment the final out was called and the Braves walked out as champs. This win is the organization's first title since 1995.

D'Arnaud is the fourth baseball player with Filipino descent to be a World Series champion following the likes of Kyle Lohse, Addison Russell, and 3x Champion Tim Lincecum. Although this Long Beach native grew up in a musical family, his mother Marita is a Fil-American music teacher, the hometown is a huge baseball community which influenced him to take up the sport. His brother, Chase was also in the MLB and they used to talk about "how cool that would be if we played with each other or against each other in the big leagues." They were both in the League at the same time from 2014-2018.

And now, another dream came true for Travis d'Arnaud becoming a World Series Champion. He tells FOX 5 Atlanta postgame, “It’s an honor to wear this shirt (Braves’ championship shirt). To finally be etched in stone as world champion is pretty cool.”
