March 26th, 2021 – Singapore – With his critically acclaimed debut project ‘No Love Lost’ amassing over 150 million streams worldwide, rising hip-hop artist Blxst teams up with fellow West Coast icons Tyga and Ty Dolla $ign for the music video of their hit single, “Chosen.”
Out now via Red Bull Records, the visual pulls inspiration from iconic college films such as School Daze, Stomp the Yard, and Love & Basketball, featuring Blxst, Tyga, and Ty Dolla $ign as they party at Evgle University. From tailgating with cheerleaders at football games to partying at frat houses with the step team, the video captures the quintessential college experience.
Blxst – “Chosen (feat. Ty Dolla $ign & Tyga)”
Released late last year, the runaway success of ‘No Love Lost‘ and its subsequent deluxe edition has positioned Blxst as a breakout artist to watch. The project peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Album Chart, while its hit single “Overrated” hit #28 on the Mediabase Rhythmic charts, #33 on the Mediabase Urban charts, and #11 on Rolling Stone’s Trending 25. Earning praise from Billboard, BET, Complex, LA Weekly, Pitchfork, XXL, and more, the “Chosen” music video follows the surprise drop of Blxst’s two-track project, Just For Clarity, earlier this month, which features collaborations with Russ and Drakeo the Ruler.
Blxst began his solo music career in Los Angeles in 2015, rapping, singing, writing, and producing. From self-editing his music videos and artwork to mixing and mastering his sound, he’s been on an unstoppable run since the release of his first solo song, “Who Would’ve Thought,” and his breakout hit “Hurt,” which surpassed 4 million streams while being independent. With a number of notable productions and collaborations under his belt, Blxst gained considerable notoriety for his work with Kendrick Lamar, YG, Mustard, Eric Bellinger, G Perico, and more, lending his skills to Mozzy’s “I Ain’t Perfect,” “Streets Ain’t Safe,” and “Keep Hope,” as well as Bino Rideaux’s “Brand New.”
