One of the biggest artists in the world just dropped a new song inspired by a famous Filipino dish and we love to see it! Doja Cat's new single is titled "Balut" and the track will also be featured on her upcoming album "Scarlet" dropping on Friday September 22. While the song's title pays homage to a Filipino delicacy, the meaning behind the name is a metaphor.
"(I) named the song 'balut' because it signifies a bird that's being eaten alive. It's a metaphor for Twitter stans and the death of Twitter toxicity. The beginning of 'X' and the end of 'tweets'," she explained via an Instagram story. X, formally known as Twitter, infamously rebranded from it's iconic bird logo recently when it was purchased by Elon Musk.
