Filipinos Represent At Super Bowl LVIII

Filipinos made an imprint all over the classic Super Bowl LVIII matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas Chiefs. For starters, the NFC Champion 49ers tapped Bay Area Filipino natives Saweetie and P-Lo for their playoff anthem “Do It For The Bay.” The banger would have been the ideal soundtrack for the squad had they not lost in overtime to the Chiefs.

While the 49ers winning bringing home the Vince Lombardi trophy would have made history for two transcendent Filipino artists, the Chiefs also had Filipino representation on their team. Rookie Wide Receiver Nikko Remigio enjoyed a started from the bottom success story, rising from an undrafted free agent to earning a roster spot on a dynasty squad.

H.E.R. also made a cameo at Super Bowl LVIII during Usher’s halftime performance. The Disney Princess performed a guitar solo and did adlibs for the R&B legend. H.E.R., a Bay Area native once sang the national anthem for her home team as a child and to perform at their Super Bowl appearance is definitely another milestone in her illustrious career.

Shout out to all the Filipinos who represented at Super Bowl LVIII!
