Russell Reyes teased us all week about his newest song "Afraid" and we're so ready to hear it! The track has been in the works for a year as Tarsier Records producer Moophs who's also worked with Inigo Pascual, started the idea of "Afraid" with Reyes in lockdown last year. One year later, another lockdown but now with a jazzy tune. The song marks Reyes' debut as a solo artist and is already in the New Music Friday charts in 8 different countries!
Reyes shares that the track has evolved from its original sound as he evolved as a person and artist during the past year. "As I’ve evolved as a person and experienced new things in my life, this track evolved parallel to me both lyrically and sonically. It is honestly amazing to see it finally get released to the world. This marks my first release as a solo artist and I’m so excited for what’s to come." He goes on to thank Moophs for the opportunity and collaborating with him despite the circumstances. Although it was a process of trial and error because it was all done remotely, the collaboration proved to be worth the wait. Reyes tells listeners to "throw on your best pair of headphones and enjoy!"
