The Indonesian-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Stephanie Poetri has released her bold and delightfully cheeky new single “Astrologically Illogical,” out today via Infinite Thrills/88Rising. While her music has been known for its soft, ethereal qualities that come through in her stunning alto voice, this song marks an exciting new chapter of powerful vocals, edgy lyrical prowess, and a healthy dose of indie-pop/indie-rock inspiration that is part of Poetri’s musical DNA. With this single, Poetri is inserting daring feminine energy into the pop-rock world.

Born on May 20th, Poetri taps into her Taurus qualities for inspiration, writing about a relationship that she finds to be successful, despite the two parties’ astrological signs being incompatible. Poetri says about the song, “I was inspired by this culture of checking our compatibility with one another through astrology. Based on my own experiences, even with signs I’m supposed to be compatible with, it doesn’t always feel accurate. So this song is a fun critique on how astrology doesn’t seem to work for me.”

Poetri has always possessed an uncanny ability to exhibit authenticity in her music, stemming from her strong songwriting sensibilities and desire to share relatable experiences with her fans. This authenticity connected right away, with her 2019 viral hit, "I Love You 3000,” reaching over 365 million streams to date, including 156 million views on the DIY video she and her sister made to accompany it, and a remix version, “I Love You 3000 II,” featuring Jackson Wang.

“Astrologically Illogical” follows the release of Poetri's latest tracks, “No Explanations” (with Elephante and ZHANG YANQI)” and “Breakfast in Bed” (with gnash).” Stephanie is performing her new music on tour with Lyn Lapid this summer, as well as at Head in the Clouds Festival in Los Angeles, CA in August. Watch her new music video below!

Previous Star Circle Quest runner-up, Sandara Park aka Dara took the 88Rising Coachella stage with her K-Pop group, 2NE1. This surprise performance became one of the highlights to Weekend 1 as the group hadn't done a live performance since 2015. The K-Pop group that consists of members Dara, Bom, Minzy, and leader CL who also performed solo on the same stage brought back the nostalgia with their hit, "I Am The Best."

Dara began her career with Star Magic in 2004, starring in films and shows alongside her love team partner, Hero Angeles. Before moving back to South Korea in 2007, she also ventured into music releasing a self-titled album. It became the only album by a South Korean to be certified platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.

Since CL was gearing up for her solo set, she extended the invite to her bandmates. According to Rappler, "CL wanted to get together [her] strength and [their] strength, before it was too late." The reunion made many fans' dream come true while letting the group thank them for sticking by their side all these years.

All members were excited to get everyone back together since disbanding back in 2016 and after releasing their final single in 2017. Dara shared how happy she was to spend several days with her bandmates while preparing for their Coachella performance.

Could this mean that there's a possibility for more music and performance from all of the ladies of 2NE1? Fingers crossed hoping there's more to come.

Remember the old school games that used to be played online before high-definition came along? Filipino artist, Idris Vicuña-aka EYEDRESS is bringing it back in his latest music video for the track, "Smoke & Mirrors." Watch him and the crew featuring NA-KEL SMITH, BOOFPAXKMOOKY, CASHCACHE cruise around the city and kick it together. Roll with them as the vibe of the music video isn't just for aesthetics. It also introduces the EYEDRESS game that's available both for PC and Mac consoles.

According to the singer, the inspiration for the track comes from raps on SoundCloud. He says, "I've been inspired by the jazz chords and synthesizers they would use on their plug beats to the point where I felt some sort of connection, because the sound was pretty similar to what I was trying to do making indie rock songs."

EYEDRESS is gearing up to perform at this year's Coachella Festival alongside Fil-British singer beabadoobee and other 88Rising artists. Catch them both weekends on the Sunday lineup with EYEDRESS performing on the Sonora stage and beabadoobee taking on the Gobi stage.

Time for take 2! Coachella has been postponed cancelled the last couple years because of the pandemic, but third time's the charm. The music and arts festival is set for 2 weekends in April starting April 15 until April 24. So it's time to celebrate in the desert once again because the lineup is good

With a line up that accommodates all music genres, there's something for everyone. The headliners include Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Ye aka Kanye West. While my inner directioner is screaming, there's so many artists to look forward to like Filipino-Brit beabadoobee, Manila based singer Eyedress, and 88Rising artists.

beabadoobee who took TikTok/radio by storm with the remix "death bed (coffee for your head)" with Powfu for her track "Coffee." She's been blazing in the indie-pop scene blazing her own path with the dreamy vocals and recently going on a US Tour. We can't wait to catch her on stage.

You may not be familiar with Eyedress, but Idris Vicuña is making a mark in the Philippines with his shoegaze and bedroom pop sound. Born and raised in the Philippines, Eyedress moved to the U.S. where he was introduced to punk music, which influenced his current vibe. He's come a long way from making beats on his laptop to now performing at the biggest festival.

To top it off, catch 88Rising artists throughout the festival. Part of the lineup are Rich Brian, Niki, Joji, and Japanese Breakfast so it's going to be a good time! It's about time we get to see Asian artists take the stage and share their music at the most popular festival. They'll be taking the stage at the Head in the Clouds Forever along with beabadoobee and Eyedress.

Make sure to grab your tickets as presale for Weekend 2 starts Friday, 1/14 at 10am PT, but you'll have to register first at Coachella.com.

keshi released a new track in October called, "SOMEBODY" a year after the one year anniversary of his last project, always. The song is the first single and music video from his upcoming, debut studio album. After the track released, he took the stage at 88 Rising's Head in the Clouds Festival in Los Angeles earlier this month with NIKI to perform “right here” and eaJ of Day 6 to perform “pillows” to over 30,000 fans.

"SOMEBODY," co-produced with Eli Rizk, brings out keshi's edgier side, but balances it with a perfect equilibrium between lo-fi and pop sound with a touch of 832. You can expect to hear keshi's harmonies along with his artistry. “With "SOMEBODY" and the upcoming album as a whole, I felt like it was time to shift the tone to something more well rounded. It all exudes a newfound confidence that I think fans will be refreshed to hear and see in all the new videos,” keshi tells us.

Along with releasing his latest single, keshi teamed up with Mindset and Dive Studios for the keshi x Mindset podcast collection. The platform is dedicated to normalizing the conversation of human experiences through authentic stories. keshi talks about everything from who he is as Casey Luong and his upbringing, what he did before music, and answers some fan questions. He's featured in 8 episodes so time to grab some headphones and listen away!

When keshi broke into the scene with his 2018 project, The Reaper, it earned him early recognition for shaping the lo-fi discourse that’s flanking pop music. VICE said, “the rawness that underpins keshi’s sound keeps fans coming back for more.” The Houston, Texas native gained popularity in the lofi-hip hop/study beats community and continues to have success in that genre. He wrote, produced, engineered and played all the instrumentation on his EP projects (Skeletons (2019), Bandaids (2020), and Always (2020)), which describes the cycle of a relationship.

Since then, keshi has been gaining more traction in mainstream like appearing on the 88rising-curated Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: The Album for his song “War With Heaven," YSL's special guest at their Venice show and he's currently tour with LANY. keshi wants to be remembered as an artist and he's on his way there. “I think the biggest goal for me right now is to create a record that will outlast me."

Get to know him as an artist and jump into his mindset in this recent MYXclusive with VJ Samm where they chat about songwriting, his album, and more!
