EZ Mil joins 50 Cent as only the second rapper to be signed by both Eminem and Dr. Dre. The hip-hop legends took to Instagram to announce that they have signed the Filipino lyricist to Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. In addition to the announcing the signing, a press statement revealed that EZ Mil and Eminem will release a song together on August 11 titled “Realast.” You can read the full announcement here.

“We’ve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective we’ve been,” commented Eminem. “And it’s even rarer that Dre and I sign something together – but I heard Ez’s music and was like, ‘this is really special” so I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.”
Dr. Dre added, “I’m really only interested in working on shit that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special. And that was it….let’s get to work.”

Congratulations to EZ Mil!

The latest music video from Ez Mil, "Up Down (Step and Walk)" is a collaboration between the rapper himself and Creative Director & TRYBE founder Phil Tayag. The song first premiered at the NBA LA Clippers vs. Utah Jazz halftime performance and was well received with millions watching the performance live or online.

The visual art focused on dance and he was excited to work with the award winning choreographer who's also worked with Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, and Paul McCartney. Growing up Ez was a big fan of hip hop and dance, he would spend countless hours studying dance and music videos any chance he could whether at school or in Internet cafes in the Philippines.

Ez watched countless videos of America’s Best Dance Crew, where he first discovered Founding Member and Former CEO/Director of the Jabbawockeez, Phil Tayag, in their memorable performances and interviews that he would go on to teach to his high school classmates.

Getting to work with Phil in his hometown of Sacramento, Ca was an honor to longtime fan Ez Mil. He created a unique “Up Down (Step & Walk)” movement that was showcased in the “one shot take” video that will soon go viral on Tik Tok and Instagram alongside some of the best dancers & choreographers in Sacramento and Northern California, followed by thousands on social media, including Wren Crisologo, Heatgottem, Chonkie (The Smeeze Creator), Koncept and of course SACBxY himself, choreographer, music director and producer Phil Tayag of TRYBE.

Ez Mil has just dropped the official music video for his second single off of his album “Dalawampu't Dalawang Oo (2200).” The song is an ode to his hometown Olongapo, and its music video is appropriately filmed there. In the music video, the lyricist takes viewers on a trip that showcases the culture and landmarks of his hometown.

An earlier statement regarding the song from Ez Mil reads:

“It's my own narration of a story filled with struggle. With this song, I hope listeners can feel the angst, and my pride, mixed with orchestral instruments fused with nerve wracking-beats. It's a song about the citizens of Olongapo first and foremost, the bad and the beauty - but it doesn't just stick to one city but can speak to all Filipinos as a whole. I've always been proud of representing my hometown, 2200, so anyone who is proud of their city will definitely feel this."

A statement on the music video’s page details his inspiration behind the visuals:

"Representing twenty-two double-o! Paying homage to his hometown, Olongapo City, Philippines. Here is Ez Mil's narration of a story filled with struggle- feel the angst, and his pride, mixed with orchestral instruments fused with nerve-wracking- beats."
