ABS-CBN announced the film, ‘A Very Good Girl’ will be released in select theaters across the United States on October 13. The film stars Golden Globe Award and BAFTA Award Nominee Dolly de Leon (A Triangle of Sadness, Verdict, Historya ni Ha) and Asian Box Office Superstar Kathryn Bernardo (Hello, Love, Goodbye and Barcelona: A Love Untold).
Directed by Petersen Vargas and written by Marianne Mancol, Daniel Saniana and Jumbo Albano, ‘A Very Good Girl’ features two self-made women and follows them as they navigate their lives around each other. After a heartless firing triggers a chain of unfortunate events, Philo (Bernardo) plots a meticulous revenge against retail mogul, Mother Molly (de Leon), aiming to dismantle her empire and seize the ultimate payback. This time, there is no mercy.
This marks ABS-CBN's continued commitment to making Filipino content accessible on a global scale. This also celebrates the 30th anniversary of Star Cinema - a film studio, film & television production company, and film distributor based in the Philippines.

For over 40 years, CAAM (Center for Asian American Media) has been dedicated to presenting stories that convey the richness and diversity of Asian American experiences to the broadest audience possible. As a nonprofit organization, CAAM funds, produces, distributes, and exhibits works in film, television, and digital media. This year they are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their CAAMFest event.
CAAMFest is the world’s leading showcase for new Asian American and Asian film, food, and music programs. This year they are excited to spotlight the SOMA Pilipinas Filipino Cultural Heritage District and Filipinx films and filmmakers in San Francisco, California. The event takes place May 12-22, 2022, and will hold in-person and virtual events in celebration of Asian and Asian American voices.

Thúy Trần, Festival and Exhibitions Director at CAAM, introduces our spotlight for CAAMFest40 on the SOMA Pilipinas Filipino Cultural Heritage District. A celebration of the generations of Filipinos throughout San Francisco and beyond, the event partners with community organizations such as Bindlestiff and Balay Kreative. SOMA Pilipinas Filipino Cultural Heritage District organizations and supporters are invited to participate in creating the art installation that will find a home later in the district.

Following the introduction of the SOMA Pilipinas Community Engagement, and, in partnership with the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, revel in an outdoor music showcase featuring emerging Pinay voices. Up-and-coming turntablist and SOMA resident, DJ Bitesize, will start the event by spinning and scratching party tunes. Ouida, named one of Nylon Magazine's rising musicians, blends catchy pop melodies with jazz, R&B, and blues. Closing out the concert will be Union City’s own singer-songwriter Kiyomi, who brings R&B stylings based on personal experiences.

It's finally here! The highly anticipated trailer for Jo Koy's Filipino American Comedy movie Easter Sunday has just dropped and depicts every scenario you can think of when your Filipino family gathers for any big celebration. This is a significant move in Hollywood as this is the first studio film to center around a Filipino American family.
In this love letter to the Filipino-American community, stand-up comedy sensation Jo Koy stars as a man returning home for an Easter celebration with his riotous, bickering, eating, drinking, laughing, and loving family. The first look at Easter Sunday was given to Entertainment Weekly and fellow Filipino and Executive Editor Clarissa Cruz, who got to pen the story with some exclusives from Jo Koy.
In the Entertainment Weekly interview, Jo Koy shared the story of how the one and only Steven Spielberg helped get this film off the ground. After Spielberg watched Jo Koy's Netflix special Comin' In Hot, he was invited to Amblin, a film and television production company led by Spielberg. Jo Koy pitched the movie, and eight months later, they began to film in Vancouver.
Easter Sunday features an all-star comedic cast that includes Jimmy O.
