Boogie Ellis will be on the official Sacramento Kings roster this 2024-25 NBA season! The Filipino-American guard earned his contract by turning heads at the NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas. In five appearances, the California native averaged 11.2 points on 51.3% shooting from the field and 1.2 steals in 17.3 minutes per game for the Kings. The signing pairs Boogie Ellis with fellow Filipino-American basketball legend Jimmy Alapag, who is a Player Development Coach for the Sacramento Kings. Congratulations to Boogie Ellis!
Filipino-American hoopers Jarod Lucas and Boogie Ellis are one step closer to making their NBA dreams a reality. After both California-native guards went undrafted at the 2024 NBA Draft, both players quickly signed deals for the NBA Summer League and NBA training camp. Lucas, who averaged 17.0PPG last year for Nevada (NCAA D1), joins the defending Western Conference Champion Dallas Mavericks. Ellis, who averaged 17.7 PPG last year for USC (NCAA D1), joins the Sacramento Kings, who have also have a Filipino coaching staff member in Jimmy Alapag. We wish both young hoopers the best of luck and continued success in chasing their NBA dreams!
