British multi-platinum singer-songwriter Calum Scott’s sublime new single “Heaven” has been refreshed with some Southeast Asian flavor.  Representing the Philippines is critically acclaimed artist Darren Espanto, who joins Diana Danielle (Malaysia), Hoàng Duyên (Vietnam), & Lyodra (Indonesia) in the remix collaboration series.

Calum Scott: “I am so excited to be working with these incredible artists from Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam! I have always had a special place in my heart for Asia so to sing with local talent from across the region is a real honor. Each of these artists has brought something new to our collaboration of “Heaven” and I can’t wait for everyone to hear them.”

Darren Espanto: “I'm really excited about the collab. I've been listening to Calum since he officially released “Dancing On My Own” after his Britain's Got Talent journey. One of my favorite songs to sing to is “You Are The Reason”. Now, I have the opportunity to collaborate with him on his song and showcase the track with other artists across Southeast Asia. I hope to perform this track with Calum live on stage someday soon!”

It looks like Darren will be getting his wish soon! Calum Scott also announced a tour series in the SEA region. Tickets will be available via Calum’s website on June 15th.

New music is finally here from Darren Espanto as he comes back with his first single of the year with "Pabalik Sa'yo." As the Fil-Canadian artist begins to venture and expand his skills as a musician with producing and songwriting, he's back with a banger that will have you feeling nostalgic for the '90s/'00s R&B vibes. The song talking about heartbreak and second changes are sure to bring the feels out of listeners and reintroduce them to R&B sounds that mixes both past and present styles..

Darren's return possibly marks a new direction and sound in his career. As he talks about "going back to the person who once hurt you" in the track's lyrics, the more mature sound shows his growth as a young artist. For the track, he worked with songwriters Kevin Yadao and Lloyd Oliver Corpuz and producer Tiny Corpuz who also helped in making Darren's holiday single, "I Believe in Christmas."

Isang Gabi - Julie Anne San Jose & Rico Blanco
Upon its release, the track debuted at #1 on the iTunes Philippines all-genre chart. The track is produced and written by OPM rock icon Rico Blanco. It brings Julie into the shoes of the “third party” in someone else’s relationship, as it explores themes of forbidden love and longing for someone you can’t have. The music brings a unique mix of musical styles — featuring the Pinoy jukebox style of hugot, and putting some modern synth elements.

Paalam - Moira Dela Torre & Ben&Ben
The music video slyly continues the story of Dela Torre’s previous music video for “Patawad, Paalam,” about young lovers suddenly parting ways just when one was about to propose marriage. Paalam again stars JM de Guzman and Anna Luna, though the video this time focuses on the clear regret their characters felt over how their relationship ended.

Pati Pato (Parokya Remix) - Parokya Ni Edgar, Gloc-9, & Shanti Dope
The Pati Pato (Parokya Mix) brings the rest of Parokya Ni Edgar to join in on reimagining the original track. Now enhanced with with blasting and bold guitar and percussion backings, fans of the Parokya rock vibe and the fiery hot OPM collab keeps them on their toes with this new mix.

Sampaguita - Juan Karlos ft. Gloc-9
Juan Karlos has teamed up with rapper Gloc-9 to pay tribute to overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in Sampaguita. It opens with Gloc-9 rapping from the perspective of an OFW writing home to his wife. It then leads into an emotional chorus and closes out with a somber note on a familiar Filipino story.

Sana Tayo Na - Darren Espanto & Jayda
This song helped Jayda embracing her OPM roots. It was written over two decades ago by her dad and now it came full circle. Jayda and Darren shot the video at home and separate from each other as Darren was in Canada. Fans can even do a duet on TikTok to the song with the duo.

Chill out and see which songs are up for MYX Awards Mellow Video of the Year. Don't forget to vote for your favorites! Vote every day until July 18, 2021 at 11:59pm PHT, and don't miss the big show on August 7, 2021 to see who wins!

Balang Araw - Inigo Pascual, Directed by Inigo Pascual
In his own words, Balang Araw is about hope and trust in waiting for the right person. Inigo Pascual describes the song as “simply trusting the process and trust your heart and know that one day that person will come. Balang araw (someday)."

Patawad - Moira Dela Torre, Directed by Niq Ablao
Patawad is part of a 3-part series of the album Malaya. According to Moira, she wanted to portray the different stages of love from the kind of love that fights for love and stays, and one where it's better if they grow apart. Then the video focuses on goodbye and forgiveness.

Sa Susunod Na - Ben&Ben, Directed by Jorel Lising
The Sa Susunod Na music video stars one of the most popular love team in the Philippines and real life couple, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. The couple is stuck in a time loop as the video explores the complicated dynamics of their lost and found relationship during a cycle of events.

Safe Place - Kiana V, Directed by Saint
An 88Rising and Paradise Rising project, Safe Place is Kiana V's message that she's becoming her own artist. The music video was created during the height of the pandemic in the US, “We went into production for Safe Place in November 2019 and...we kind of didn’t know when or how we will release it. So, this whole opportunity with Paradise Rising was a lifesaver for all of us.”

Sasagipin Kita - Darren Espanto, Directed by Jiggy Gregorio
Another song released during the pandemic, Sasagipin Kita dives into people's troubled feelings during that time. The ballad's melancholic tone and touching lyrics becomes a powerful song complete with a band to tie it all together. An extended version of the music video was released that portrayed three individuals' true life experiences in their journey of hardship to finding strength and hope.

Kyle Echarri can do it all: sing, dance, act, and a content creator. In his latest album, New Views he shows off his vocal chops and new sound. The record has both Tagalog and English tracks with a pop/R&B sound that's evident in I'm Serious, As Long as You Mine. The songs in Tagalog, Mahal Nga Kita and Liligawan Na Kita features other artists like Arvey and Seth Fedelin. The 7 new tracks shows you the direction that Kyle is taking in his music. Sit back and take a listen.
