Freeform is set to drop its newest pilot, AZNBBGRL which takes place in SoCal's Little Saigon community. The leads are played by Cathy Bui, Kim Lynn Do and Jazelle Villanueva, three Asian American teenagers looking for their coming-of-age moment. Their want to break away from generational expectations and set their own goals for themselves comes when a street gang offers them a way out.

This was Jazelle's first tv/film audition for the year and she is stoked to be portraying Dang-Dang. She says on social media, "There is so much to say on how I even got to this point. This was my first actual tv/film audition of 2022 and ever. I just wanted to bring it all."

According to Deadline, "Bui will play Anh, who’s focused on getting into a top college — a dream that’s derailed when she and her best friend Jenny are forced into a scheme that leads them to a street gang. Do plays Jenny, who’s part of a well-off family but feels constrained by her parents’ expectations. After a traumatic event, she enlists Anh in a dangerous scheme. Villanueva plays Dang-Dang, who can’t seem to escape her troubled past. Initially at odds with Jenny, she forms a surprisingly deep connection with her and Anh."

Other cast members include Quentin Nguyen-Duy, who plays Richie, rising gang member and former nerdy classmate to the three friends. Alejandro Akara plays Gabriel, Anh's ex-boyfriend while Audrey Huynh plays Bella, Jenny's younger sister. Cat Ly portrays Anh's aunt, a Chinese Vietnames restaurant owner who gets schemed.

Looking for a new comedy to binge on this summer? Prime Video's series, The Lake will having you laughing along and quoting some of your favorite rom-coms and teen films like Mean Girls. It follows Justin, played by Jordan Gavaris (Orphan Black) who after a breakup with his partner looks to reconnect with his biological daughter, Billie played by Madison Shamoun (All-American) who he gave up for adoption in his teens. Think family high jinks mixed with summer camp, so you know chaos is going to happen.

The comedy series includes 10 Things I Hate About You actor Julia Stiles, Terry Chen, Declan Whaley, and Fil-Am Jared Scott. The 23-year old model and actor plays Killian Lin, Billie's love interest who's also her step-cousin and the lake's junior lifeguard. They strike up a friendship and go on some of the summer adventures you can think imagine. He's also previously been seen on Netflix's 13 Reasons Why and Facebook Watch's Turnt.

Amazon Prime Video just released the latest young adult series, The Summer I Turned Pretty from the Jenny Han book series of the same name. The author who also wrote and co-created the Netflix triology, To All the Boys I've Loved Before, this story introduces us to young and upcoming actors, Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno to play the characters of Isabel (Belly) Conklin, and brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. Again, Jenny Han creates your next summer obsession and continues to show representation through her characters and music selection.

Belly and her brother spend their summers in a beach house in the fictional town of Cousins with her mom's BFF and two her sons. The kids have a close bond, but Belly hopes that the summer of her 16th birthday everyone including the Fisher boys will finally stop seeing her as the little kid they grew up with. The early 2000s book series gets an update in the series touching on topics like mental health and sexual fluidity, but still explores the story around family, young love, and summer shenanigans.

The upcoming Netflix series, Entergalactic inspired by Kid Cudi's latest album is an adult-animated music series. It'll follow Jabari, a young artist voiced by the rapper who's a creative visionary who doesn't take himself too seriously and is the definition of cool. Kid Cudi is joined by a talented cast that includes many well-known actors and musicians like Timothée Chalamet (Dune), Ty Dolla $ign, Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Jaden Smith, and Fil-Am Vanessa Hudgens. Check out the new teaser and get a feel for the series.

Deadline revealed the voice cast list and their roles. Jabari looks to balance his career and love life as he moves into a dream apartment and meets his new, cool-girl neighbor, Meadow played by Jessica Williams. With a new location, there's new characters Jabari meets including Meadow's trustworthy and pregnant BFF Karina voiced by Vanessa Hudgens.

Fil-Am actress Netta Walker along with the cast of CW's All-American Homecoming just completed the first season and they are getting a second! It was announced that the spin-off of the hit series, All-American, which follows Simone Hicks and her friends at fictional HBCU Bringston University are coming back next fall. Netta Walker plays Keisha McCalla, best friends with Simone, resident advisor, dancer, and overall over-achiever. The series tackled each student's adjustment to college life and further finding their individuality.

One episode during the season, Netta's Filipino culture was included in the storyline. In the episode,"Godspeed," her character Keisha lost her mother at a young age and told her friends that every year on her mother's birthday, it's Filipino tradition to still celebrate. Her friends helped put together a traditional Filipino feast, "kamayan" where the food was all laid out on a table and everyone eats with their hands. Keisha and friends wore traditional Filipino attire from Barong Tagalog and modern embroidered boleros.

Season 1 ended in Keisha helping keep Bringston University through financial troubles by putting together a fundraiser. Now the gang are staying another semester at university, but it'll be a long road ahead in Season 2 not only keeping their athletics department going, but navigating the changes at the college. The second season is looking at a fall debut on the CW.

Jewel (Alexa Ilacad) is on top of her game online. She has reached superstar status for capturing the niche of singing flawlessly while doing make-up tutorials.  But while enjoying the success of her virtual life, she is down in the dumps with her real family life. Her busy mother Emerald (Mickey Ferriols) has no time for Jewel, focusing instead on the family business. Jewel feels left out as her mother's attention is directed towards her younger brother, Diamond (Sean Tristan).

On the flip side, Wilson (KD Estrada) is also a music streamer but struggles for views. He hustles hard with side gigs trying to help his mother (Nikki Valdez) and pay for her hospital bills. He may not be getting fan love online, the unconditional love he shares with his mom is unmatched.

Jewel and Wilson crosses paths unexpectedly as Wilson tries to rescue Jewel from what he thought was a kidnapping. He finds out the situation was staged by Jewel to grab her mother's attention. Does Wilson play along to her scheme, playing along as her fake kidnapper or will both of them get caught in their lie?

A new member to the Rue and Jules crew, Elliot shares similar troubles and stirs the pot between the friends. The score composed and produced by Labrinth includes the track "Elliot's Song," featuring Dominic Fike, Zendaya, and Labrinth which made waves on social media after its debut on Episode 8 of the season. The score also includes loads of instrumental tracks plus other favorites like "Rue's I'm Tired," "Fez's Interlude (with Angus Cloud), and more. Fans can order the special edition box set which includes a CD and t-shirt.

Labrinth expressed his gratitude to the Euphoria fans for letting him share this experience with them and work with the cast like Zendaya and Dominic Fike on the score. "I want to thank all of you for making this music come alive much more than I could ever imagine. You make the work I put into creating even more worth the love and the grind. This is a big part of how I make music now all because of you."

Although May is Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month, it's never too early to start celebrating. The current host of the Nick Jr. show, Blues & You, Joshua Dela Cruz is the first Asian host of the series and he definitely brings Filipino pride. Viewers have seen his Lola visit in episodes like in "Blue's Big Baking Show" where they bake bibingka together and share traditions, bringing more awareness to Filipino culture.

Now, Josh and his Lola are back teaming up for a karaoke session singing about being Filipino. The catchy tune shares lyrics about what it means to be Filipino like spending time with family, joining in a song, and feeling the love whenever visiting the Philippines. The video shows different kinds of Filipino foods, the national flag, and an animated version of the picturesque beaches found throughout the islands. The NBC sitcom series, Mr. Mayor is in its second season and there's a big Filipino representation in the most recent episode, "Sister Cities." From the creators of Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, the series follows fictional Los Angeles Mayor Neil Bremer played by Ted Danson. Fil-Am actor Mike Cabellon is a series regular who plays Chief Strategist, Tommy Tomas.

This week, Mike Cabellon is joined by 2 more Filipino actors, Bernadette Balagtas Batts and Marie France Arcilla who we see throughout the episode in guest roles. Not only were there 3 Filipino actors on set, the episode was also spearheaded by Filipina director Heather Jack.

Here's the episode's synopsis: Neil can't wait to show off his deal-making skills with the visiting mayors of L.A.'s sister cities, but chaos ensues when he mistakes a group of film extras for the real mayors.
