Allisen Corpuz just won the US Women’s Open — her first major title win. The 25-year-old golfer has a Filipino father and a Korean mother. She credited her dad, who is a native of Ilocos, during her post-match interview: “My dad has always been a really big golf fan and he just got us to it really young.” The US Women’s Open win rewarded Corpuz, who is just a second year pro, with a $2M purse.
