Get ready Toronto! On July 23 & 24, Bathurst St. and Wilson Ave. plays host to a new and massive Filipino Street Festival called FUN PHILIPPINES! Organized by the Philippine Legacy and Cultural Alliance (PLACA), the festival celebrates 2022 and Filipino diversity with food, music, and culture through inclusive and fun collaborations with artists and creative partners, community leaders, food establishments and chefs, and various groups that advocate for true Filipino representation in the mainstream.

Spanning a one-kilometer stretch in Bathurst St., festival attendees will enjoy live performances, Filipino games and activities, cultural showcases, street dancing, karaoke, storytelling, kamayan feasts, food, craft demos, and carnival rides.

In addition to the fun weekend of Filipino cultural recognition, MYX will be inviting a few special guests on the first day of the festival: Ylona Garcia, Keith Pedro, and Darren Espanto for performances. Filipino Comedy Night is ready to bring you tons of laughs and have you trying to catch your breath from laughing so hard you're actually crying. Join us and Anthony Presents for fun and conversations this August 11th at the San Jose Improv and August 14th, live from Brea Improv. For both shows, doors open at 6:30pm with the show starting at 7pm. Tickets are $15 and you can purchase yours here.

We got a line up that won't disappoint from comedians to DJs like Keith Pedro, Andrew Lopez, Aivy Cordova, and DJ Icy Ice. Also making appearances are Andrew Orolfo, Kevin Camia, Norm Alconcel, Alex Retodo, and DJ Ekspoe who are all sure to bring the funny and good vibes.

Headliner, Keith Pedro is known for his off-the-top improvisational and crowd work skills displaying his in-your-face persona and his fast-talking, smart-ass swagger. Even aside from stand-up comedy, Keith has done everything from being a part of the Sketch Crew "THE BOOM" all the way to acting on Degrassi The Next Generation, a docuseries was filmed about Keith Pedro's comedy journey on the MYX original TV series, "Making it in Canada" in 2021.

Filipino Comedy Nights and MYX Comedy Specials both fall under the umbrella of MYX Comedy Nights which features the best and brightest comedians in around the world, including comedians of Filipino descent. Keith Pedro is one of Canada's most known comedians. Known for his crazy funny improv skills, Keith has been performing everywhere from comedy festivals to tours. Recently, he was part of Roast Battle Canada, the show where the funniest people go head-to-head to take bragging rights on who's the funniest. Now, huge congrats are in order! The series was nominated for the Canadian Screen Awards in the Best Performance, Sketch Comedy (Individual or Ensemble) category.

The “Making It” series is a new MYX original series that follows the multigenerational, challenging journey of successful Filipino entrepreneurs, artists & community leaders globally. Roast Battle Canada brings in two pairs of Canadian comics who hurl ruthless jokes at each other in hopes of coming out unscathed and crowned the victor by a distinguished panel of judges.
