Over 2 days, 25+ hrs of music, 24 DJs, and 1 singer streaming on Twitch, we surpassed our amazing goal of $17,500.00 for the Philippines Typhoon Relief. After the success of the first two-day fundraiser, we decided to put on a House Music Edition fundraising stream to help us reach an extended goal of $21,000.00 which pushed us over the 1 Million PHP donation mark! 100% of proceeds will go to ABS-CBN Foundation International to continue to provide on the ground support to those affected by Typhoon Rai (Odette) around the Philippines.

LOS ANGELES, CA, January 5, 2022 - When disaster strikes, count artists among the first responders as they create timely and innovative ways for people to gather, help, and heal.
This is exactly what MYX’s Operation Odettedid last December 28-29, 2021, by assembling from all over the world 24 DJs like Miles Medina, Umami, Icy Ice, Franzen, Shortkut, along with singer-songwriter Jayne Rio, to stream over 25 hours of music on the Twitch livestream platform, to raise, as of this writing, US $17,971 (approximately Php 918,677.52) The proceeds will go toABS-CBN Foundation International (AFI) in its operations to help individuals and families in areas severely damaged recently by Super Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai).
Another Twitch livestream raid train will take place this weekend from January 6 to January 9, 2022 starting at 2pm PST. The upcoming 4-day event will consist of 40 hours of house music featuring a gathering of 20 of the most notable DJs, Producers, and house music pioneers around the world like DJ Ala (San Diego, CA), Jayvi Velasco (San Francisco, CA), Big Cee (Los Angeles, CA) jojoflores (Montreal, CAN), Micfreak (Baltimore, MD), Local Options (Chicago, IL) and more who have all come together to help.
A WAVE OF "BAYANIHAN" FOLLOWS A SEA OF DISASTER
In the January 3, 2022 situational report of the Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Odette's aftermath includes 407 casualties, 1,147 injured and 78 missing people. The calamity has affected 4,879,130 persons. A total of 582,626 houses have been damaged. The cost of damage to agricultural areas that include crops, livestock/poultry and fisheries is Php 7,686,026,544.93.

MYX's Operation Odette is working with AFI to make sure proceeds really help the victims of Typhoon Odette. According to AFI Managing Director Rea Lopez, donors to the Operation Odette efforts have already helped serve over 50,000 families with much-needed clean drinking water, food packs, hot meals, and hygiene kits. Other essentials needed at evacuation centers are blankets, sleeping mats, and basic clothing.
"Our hearts go out to the communities devastated by Odette at a time of an ongoing global pandemic," said Lopez. "We are also very grateful to MYX and its network of artists for their commitment to join AFI in providing disaster relief and humanitarian aid. Super Typhoon Rai, known as Odette, has recently ravaged parts of the Philippines, leaving people in desperate need of our help. The devastation caused by the typhoon is unfathomable and has hit some of the most vulnerable areas of the Philippines. ABS-CBN Broadcast Journalist Karen Davila shares a video from Kirby Abejaron showing the horrific scenes of the typhoon wreaking havoc in Siargao's newly built sports complex where people were taking shelter.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity and encouraging people to do good. It has now grown into an annual campaign of kindness that inspires people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
ABS-CBN Foundation, International (AFI), the public service arm of The Filipino Channel (TFC) and the umbrella department of all corporate social responsibility activities of ABS-CBN, is participating in this global movement for the first time and encourages the public to open their hearts to giving back after the frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The Foundation’s mission remains to be in the service of the Filipino by helping address persistent social issues and provide a better life for the disadvantaged.
This year, AFI is championing education through Programa Genio and hopes to change the lives of scholars by supporting them for this coming school year and thus have a better shot at a better life.
Programa Genio works with public schools and communities to support students and even educators with their needs, from scholarship, to trainings, to school supplies. When the pandemic struck and in-person schooling was halted because of lockdowns, the Foundation provided public schools with heavy duty machines for module printing, and power banks to areas where electricity was a problem so students can still do online classes.
Donations also help the Foundation reach their goals of helping provide what a child needs for an entire school year: school supplies, meals, transportation, counselling, tuition, and most relevant for remote learning, internet allowance.

Recently, the SARI NOT SARI campaign brought together the DJs from around the world to raise funds to help the ABS-CBN Foundation continue their humanitarian efforts in the region. Super Typhoons, Goni (Rolly) and Ulysses (Vamco), pummeled across the Philippines over a week ago have left massive destruction in communities already hit hard by heavy storms in recent weeks.
According to the latest report from the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), key figures show that there are 24 million people in severely affected areas, 845,000 people in need of assistance, and $45.5 million in funding is requested. The same report says there are at least 24 dead, 399 injured, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
ABS-CBN Foundation International’s HELP4PH Relief Fund will continue to provide calamity victims with food packs of rice and canned goods, hot meals for the temporary shelters, medical assistance and supplies, mats, hygiene kits, and protection from COVID-19 for those in cramped evacuation centers.
