OTTAWA, February 2025 — The 7th annual Pinoys on Parliament (POP), Canada’s largest Filipino-Canadian youth leadership conference, returns to Ottawa from February 21st to 23rd, 2025, bringing together young leaders from across the country for a weekend of empowerment, education, and cultural celebration. This year, MYX, the leading platform for Filipino music and entertainment, is back to join the conference to amplify the voices of the next generation of Filipino artists and leaders.

Centered on the theme "Panahon", a word that signifies time, season, or era, POP 2025 builds on last year’s theme of "Laro" (to play) and explores the transition into young adulthood. Through engaging workshops, thought-provoking panels, and cultural activities, attendees will reflect on their personal, academic, and professional journeys—examining how Filipino-Canadian identity shapes each stage of their growth.

As part of its commitment to uplifting Filipino talent, MYX will present a special guest artist performance at MYX Presents, curate the official after-party with a live DJ set, and host an insightful discussion on the future of Filipino music and artists in the global industry. This collaboration underscores MYX’s mission to empower the next generation by bridging the gap between culture, entertainment, and community.

Past POP speakers have included notable Filipino-Canadian trailblazers such as Dr. Rey Pagtakhan, the first Filipino-Canadian elected to Parliament; Rechie Valdez, Canada’s first Filipina MP and Minister of Small Business; and Senator Dr. Gigi Osler, the first Filipina-Canadian senator. This year’s keynote speaker is Andrea Macasaet, the Winnipeg-born actress and singer best known for originating the role of Anne Boleyn in Broadway’s award-winning Six: The Musical and starring in Manitoba’s first all-Filipino musical Ma-Buhay!
