P-pop is known for its boy bands, but girl group 4th Impact is looking to shake up the industry. The former X-Factor finalists recently released a new song about moving on and it’s definitely something that all can relate to. The four-member collective’s new single “Tapat Sa’yo” is inspired by their own personal break-up stories and focuses on having to go through pain to rebuild your sense of self from the ground up.

“Tapat Sa’yo” also features contributions from renowned K-Pop producer Lee Oh Won, the man behind some of the biggest hits from SHINee's Taemin, Stray Kids, TVXQ, Wanna One, and SB19. Check out the heartfelt ballad below.

EJ De Perio was an independent singer/songwriter for five years before signing a record deal with Sony Music Philippines.

“I’ve been an independent singer-songwriter for 5 years and I didn’t see this coming,” De Perio shares in a statement. “I’m just glad that the Sony Music Philippines really believed in what I do and what I write. In return, I’m determined to use my platform to inspire more people through music. This is a gift that I hope to continue doing for more years to come.”

Not only has the vocalist announced his new venture, but he also released a new single entitled “Panandalian.” The guitar-laden ballad focuses on there always being that one person who is willing to stick it out through thick and thin despite the uncertainty of the future.

“I wrote “Panandalian” out of the realization that nothing’s gonna last forever, and everything must come to an end,” says the talented newcomer. “The song is about preparing yourself for the inevitable change, and making sure to protect that one person who is willing to keep things the same way—even if everything around you is constantly evolving.”

Listen to “Panandalian” below.

The P-Pop girl group KAIA became the first group to be featured in the new YouTube series, "THE STAGE at EL's Planet" in collaboration with Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria. This new digital series highlights P-pop idol groups where they showcase exclusive dance performances for their latest music.

Charlotte, Angela, Sophia, Alexa, and Charice aka KAIA formed by ShowBT Entertainment Philippines, are no stranger to EL's Planet as they were previously featured on an episode of IDOL RELAY last April to promote the debut single, "BLAH BLAH." Since then, the single has been well received by the P-Pop community especially at the 2022 P-POP CON.

With the growing popularity of P-Pop, the community is wanting more videos that focus on the group performing fan-favorite songs. The series is a creative collaboration in finding the right venue like the the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria along with working with artists to bring their music to life on stage, according to Luis Miguel "EL."

KAIA's video was directed by Ela Bendaa, who has previously worked with several award-winning K-POP cover groups in the
Philippines with co-direction by EL himself. "P-POP is here, and it's here to stay. There's so much potential, and all they need is a platform to share their craft, music, and art. And I would love for EL's Planet to be one of the many ways they can do so." Be on the lookout for more episodes and make sure you follow EL Planet's channel for more news.

of Mercury has just released a new EP entitled CHANGIN’ Volume 2. The three-track project features the pop/soul trio embracing genre-melding tunes with fresh, innovative production and setting the stage for a groovy kind of trip.

“In this whole process, we explored new elements that we haven't tried before,” shares the band in a statement. “Lyrics-wise, all the songs are different from each other.”

According to their label’s press release, the three-part release includes “STRESSES,” a soulful, electro-pop anthem that is punctuated by retro-modern grooves and heavy 808 bass; “ENERGY,” a club jam that articulates the frustration of wanting to enact changes within a retrogressive system; and “CHOLULA (Cut You Loose),” a feel-good bop with laid-back funk influences.

Check out of Mercury’s latest project below.

KAIA aims for a global reach with their debut single, "BLAH BLAH." The upbeat track, released under Sony Music marks the arrival of the P-pop newcomer and they're ready to show us what they got! Produced by Lee Oh Won, who's also behind other tracks by international artists like SB19, Stray Kids, and more, helps KAIA explore a future forward sound that blends different musical elements together. Listen to "BLAH BLAH" now available on all digital music platforms.

The group may be considered newcomers, but they're already taking ownership of their music as songwriters. As the song talks about love, infatuation, and how relationships don't always play out the way we want, the girls wrote the lyrics by bringing their own experiences into the mix. Group member, Sophia shares how their chemistry made the songwriting process easier, "Writing BLAH BLAH is somehow easier considering our chemistry has improved a lot since then...We finally learned how to trust each other on a deeper level, hence the making of a song about love."

"Aside from this, everyone puts their 100% effort into this official debut. Even when one of us gets stuck in writing, the other four members make sure to help out when needed. That being said, our closeness and dedication made us more comfortable and confident in writing BLAH BLAH."

The music video which also debuted along with the single provides a stark contrast between the dream world and reality. Directed by Angelo Balanon, the visual translates the essence of the song with a cosmopolitan, movie-like sheen on par with K-Pop and J-Pop music videos.

This is only the beginning for KAIA and "BLAH BLAH" serves as their introductory journey towards self-discovery. As they navigate through an industry that's challenging and unfamiliar, they'll have to stick together and find their voice collectively as a group. "BLAH BLAH" partakes in Sony Music Entertainment's "Angat, P-Pop" initiative, which aims to put a spotlight on new generation OPM pop hits. Its global-ready sounds is sure to be your next summer jam!

ABOUT KAIA
KAIA is an upcoming 5-member girl group from ShowBT PH, the same company that launched P-POP Kings SB19. The members consist of Sophia, Angela, Charice, Charlotte, and Alexa. The name KAIA is inspired by two tagalog words: First is Kinaiya, which is a Tagalog noun that describes your inner character. These aren’t just your good traits, but all the traits and
characteristics that make you who you are. The second word is Kaya, which is a generic tagalog term Filipinos use in their everyday lives, mainly to overcome their struggles. “Kaya mo paba?” “Kakayanin.”

KAIA is a word that sounds feminine, but means powerful. Accepting who you are, and using it as a strength to overcome your goals despite what may be thrown at you. This is what the group represents now that they have finally debuted.

SB19's Pablo makes his solo debut with the high energy and inspirational banger La Luna. The track was composed and produced by Pablo himself, and it's all about freeing yourself from the need to meet society's unrealistic expectations. The cinematic music video brings Pablo's lyrics to life as he's seen battling his own inner demons, pushing himself to break free from behind the bars we put ourselves behind.

La Luna cements PABLO’s foothold as one of the most imaginative figures in P-Pop and a creative force with a knack for ambition. Aiming for a grander, more cinematic-sounding track, PABLO rips through the speakers with punchy cadences over a hard-hitting bed of bass, strings, wind instruments, hip-hop-inspired drums, and choral harmonies.

Pablo stated, “We all have flaws and we need to accept those imperfections because those are what make us who we are.” Self-love and acceptance are important for all of us to learn and strive for and it's all summed up in this debut track.

PABLO’s “La Luna” is out now via Sony Music Philippines on all digital music platforms worldwide.

Fashion, visuals, choreography, and a bop! Maris Racal is back with the new track Pumila Ka featuring singer, songwriter, and rapper Raven. Pumila Ka asserts the internet-breaking star’s knack for capturing the zeitgeist and shaking up outdated conventions in mainstream music.

On Pumila Ka, Maris claps back at those who use their privilege and entitlement for all the wrong reasons. The empowering tune emphasizes that people need to be more aware and considerate of those around them and that it's okay to aim high as long as you won't be hurting or doing anyone wrong in the process.

The unapologetic bop is written by Maris herself and singer-songwriter/rapper raven, with production by Rico Blanco. According to Raven, who happens to contribute a verse on the multihyphenate star’s 2022 single, working with Maris was a fun and exciting experience.

“I used to watch her in PBB, and I’m glad that I got to collaborate with someone as talented as Maris. The verse that I’ve written for her was based on a true story.”

Pumila Ka marks Maris Racal’s first release of 2022, and continues the journey of her previous singles “Ate Sandali” and “Asa Naman.” Both tracks earned positive feedback from music critics and fans for steering pop music forward with exciting new ideas. You can now stream Pumila Ka on all major streaming platforms.

It's here! KAIA's Pre-Debut Single "KAYA" is available to stream, and you can now also catch their performance video! This is the first real look into the groups developing sound and artistry. Multi-Platinum Star Khalid just dropped his latest single, "Present." The romantic R&B ballad is a track off his upcoming mixtape Scenic Drive. The track is inspired by the music Khalid grew up with. Khalid's Mom raised him on R&B and he has mentioned that the harmonies and melodies that influenced him growing up will always be part of his music.

“Present is just the beginning and I love that it has a dual meaning. It feels good to be more ‘present’ after such a trying year in the pandemic and it’s also a ‘present’ for my fans that have been with me every step of the way.”

-Khalid

It's been a fantastic year for Filipino Folk-Pop group Ben&Ben. First, their widely successful sophomore album Pebble House, Vol. 1Kuwaderno, has amassed over 30 million Spotify streams and counting since its release. Then they nabbed their first MYX Awards for "Mellow Video of the Year" and "Collaboration of the Year" with Moira. To add to that, they teamed up with P-Pop group SB19 on a Band Version of the group's song MAPA, which now has over 12 million views on Youtube. But, Ben&Ben isn't stopping there. They just teamed up with best-selling Taiwanese singer-songwriter WeiBird on the new collaborative single Cheap Love.

Cheap Love is the first single off WeiBird’s first official English album. It follows the success of his fifth studio album, Sounds Of My Life, which peaked at No.1 on Taiwanese album charts in 2020, and received four nominations at the 32nd Golden Melody Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Mandarin Album.

With stripped-down instrumentation embracing listeners with a sense of comforting warmth; Cheap Love expresses the woes and triumphs of a generation caught up in romantic longing and desire. The collaboration between Weibird and Ben&Ben came naturally between the talented artists. With the track already written and produced by WeiBird, Ben&Ben came in, adding to the arrangement helping create a more polished version of the original track.

“I wrote, played and produced the whole song on the album version. However, for this collab I haven’t had to do much because Ben&Ben was amazing. I remember listening to a demo of them playing along to my original track, and I could already imagine how it would come to be later. And the final results were not far from my imagination. It was awesome.”
